Lompoc Chalks will return for a weekend of free art and entertainment, Oct. 20-22 at Lompoc Airport, 1801 North H St., Lompoc.
The event’s main attraction is the sidewalk/street chalk paintings that are created over the course of the weekend. Chalk artists begin their masterpieces early in the morning on Saturday, and visitors can watch their progress throughout the weekend.
The chalk festival takes place 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Oct. 21-22.
Lompoc Chalks opens with Food Truck Friday, followed by two days of live entertainment, including local musicians and dance groups; youth activities; food trucks and local vendors; as well as the chalk artists’ creations.
The festivities begin with Meet the Artists, 5-8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 20, featuring live music by T-Bone Ramblers. Admission is free, and food and beverages will be available for purchase.
Especially for families, the festival’s Kids Corner will offer complimentary squares to decorate, face painting, kids yoga, and crafts.
