The Foodbank of Santa Barbara County will host its 27th annual Santa Barbara Empty Bowls lunch fundraiser Sunday, Nov. 10 at its new Sharehouse in Goleta.
This community event brings together supporters to raise funds and awareness for the Foodbank’s programs that help combat food insecurity in the region.
Those attending will enjoy gourmet soups provided by Freedom 4 Youth and fresh bread from Phoenix Bread Rising, while selecting from hundreds of hand-crafted bowls, a powerful symbol of the fight against hunger.
This year, Empty Bowls will feature a Holiday Marketplace and Artisan Gallery showcasing pottery and ceramics, as well as succulents in ceramic arrangements.
There also will be a chance to win one of a dozen baskets valued at over $600 each in an opportunity drawing.
All proceeds from the marketplace will help provide nutritious food to families and individuals facing food insecurity this holiday season.
There are four seating times, 11 a.m., noon, 1 p.m. and 2 p.m., will be offered to accommodate guests throughout the day.
Tickets are $30 and can be purchased online at www.foodbanksbc.org/sbeb24.
Offsite parking will be available at Apeel, 71 S. Los Carneros Road, Goleta, with shuttle service provided to the Sharehouse.
For those unable to stay for the marketplace, a to-go soup option is available for a quick lunch stop.
Empty Bowls is a signature community celebration that benefits the Foodbank and its mission to end hunger and transform the health of Santa Barbara County.
Proceeds from this event will directly support the Foodbank’s efforts to provide healthy groceries, fresh produce, and essential nutrition education to those in need.
Volunteer opportunities are available to community members for the Empty Bowls event such as set-up, service and clean-up. Those interested can sign up at FoodbankSBC.org/VolunteerSouthCounty or email Kelly Smith at KSmith@Foodbanksbc.org.
