Three Bishop Diego football players and one from Santa Barbara High received All-CIF Southern Section honors in their respective playoff divisions.
Senior running back Qu’Ran Gossett, senior lineman Pasefika Salatielu and junior running back/linebacker Misa Paiau were named to the CIF-SS Division 3 squad from Bishop Diego.
Santa Barbara senior strong safety Andrew Tobin was picked to the Division 4 squad.
The trio of Bishop Diego players led the Cardinals to the Division 3 semifinals after a third-place finish in the rugged Marmonte League.
Gossett was the county’s leading rusher with 2,126 yards, averaging 163.5 yards per game. He ran for 28 touchdowns and caught two TD passes.
Paiau rushed for 779 yards on 79 carries for a 9.9-yard average and scored six TDs. He also was an impact player on defense. He 44 solo tackles, including 11 for losses.
Salatielu was a force on both lines for the Cardinals
Tobin had three interceptions, 18 pass deflections and 47 total tackles (11 solo). He was also a returner for the Dons, who tied for the Channel League title and finished 9-2.
