The Santa Barbara Foresters bounced back in a major way with a 10-1 win over the Arroyo Seco Saints on Sunday at Pershing Park.
The Foresters, who are 10-4 in league play, had won 10 games in a row before falling to the Saints on Saturday, but the Santa Barbara offense put on a show to get back on track.
After a scoreless first inning, John Newman roped an RBI single to put the Foresters on the board, and the offense kept it rolling from there.
Santa Barbara scored two runs in the third, fourth and fifth innings to extend its lead to 7-0 while Sean Youngerman, who started the game, tossed five scoreless innings while striking out five.
The Foresters then got a trio of runs in the seventh thanks to a two-RBI double by Jacob Kendro and a run-scoring groundout off the bat of Eamonn Lance.
The lone Arroyo Seco run came in the top of the eighth on a wild pitch, but any potential rally was cut short after a strikeout and a flyout.
Max Belyeu and Will Rogers led the Santa Barbara offense with three hits apiece while Kendro drove in three runs en route to the win. Meanwhile, Gregory Pace found some production from the nine spot in the order, going 2-for-5 with two RBIs and two runs scored.
On the bump, Chase Hoover, Zachary Yates, Jacob Hughes and Michael Lombardi combined out of the bullpen to close out the win.
The Foresters will look to begin a new winning streak when they take on the SLO Blues (5-7) on Monday at 4:30 at Sinsheimer Park.
