Ryan Wrobleski ripped a pinch-hit, bases-loaded double to break open a close game, as the Santa Barbara Foresters rebounded from a Tuesday loss and beat the San Luis Obispo Blues, 8-3, on Wednesday to gain a split of their two-game California Collegiate League series on the road.

The win moved the Foresters into a first-place tie with the Blues in the CCL South at 7-4.

Wrobleski cleared the bases and then scored from second base on a wild pitch to make it 6-0 in the sixth inning.

Tanner O’Tremba and Andrew Kachel scored on passed balls in the ninth inning.

Foresters starters Josh Swales threw six shutout innings, allowing two hits, walking none and striking out five. The Blues capitalized on an error, a pair of walks from Gabe Starks, a wild pitch and a balk to score three runs in the bottom of the ninth.

Center field Josh Stinson made two terrific catches. He made a diving grab in the fourth inning and made a running catch and crashed into the wall in the sixth.

The Foresters were one-hit by the Blues in a 5-1 loss on Tuesday.

Santa Barbara is back on the road again on Thursday at Arroyo Seco.
