It was rough day for the pitchers and the defense of the Santa Barbara Foresters as they were routed by the Conejo Oas, 11-4, on Tuesday.

Four pitchers gave up 12 hits and struck out only five Oaks batters, and the Santa Barbara defense committed four errors.

Conejo scored five runs in the fourth inning to break the game open. Starting pitcher Brandon Beckel was charged with four runs, with two coming on an error by third baseman Will Pendergrass.

The Foresters’ bullpen, which has been reliable this season, had a tough day, allowing six runs on eight hits.

Gavin Kash hit a two-run single and Kevin Bazzell singled in a run for the Foresters, who are on the road Wednesday against the Arroyo Seco Saints in Pasadena. The game is at 6 p.m. and can be heard on AM 1290 and FM 96.9 KZSB.
