The Santa Barbara Foresters struggled to keep the Arroyo Seco Saints’ offense under control in a 13-6 loss on Thursday at Jackie Robinson Field.

The Saints got the scoring started in the first inning and didn’t look back, as they put up three runs in the opening frame.

The Foresters sprinkled in two runs throughout the first six innings, but that was nothing compared to the Arroyo Seco offense, which boasted 11 total runs by the end of the sixth inning.

Santa Barbara’s offense woke up in the seventh, scoring four runs in large part due to a bases-loaded double by Miguel Santos. Santos led the offense on Thursday, going 2-for-3 with three RBIs and a run scored.

After the Foresters cut the lead to 11-6, the Saints turned around and added two more runs of insurance in the eighth to close out the 13-6 victory.

The Forester pitching struggled, allowing 13 runs on 14 hits and four walks, with three of those hits being homers.

Coming off of back-to-back losses, Santa Barbara (14-10) will look to change their fortune when they take on Walnut Creek at Pershing Park on Friday at 6 p.m.
