Carpinteria celebrated a monumental four decades of peace, love and guacamole during the first weekend of October.
Thousands descended on the city that markets itself as the World’s Safest Beach for the three-day annual California Avocado Festival. From music to face painting to a Ferris wheel to avocado beer (and ice cream), Carpinteria’s heart of downtown boasted something for all ages.
The celebration continues into Sunday, with the guacamole contest and the Future Farmers of America auction set to begin at 11:30 a.m. on the Grotto Stage.
