Local girls volleyball teams found plenty of success throughout the fall season, including four different squads claiming at least a share of their league titles.
As a result, six teams will represent the Santa Barbara area in the CIF-SS playoffs beginning next week.
San Marcos (26-6, 1st in Channel League) was the top team in town throughout the regular season, and it was rewarded with a playoff home opener in the Division 2 bracket.
The Royals will roll out the welcome mats for Murrieta Valley (19-11, 3rd in Southwestern) on Tuesday at 6 p.m. inside the Thunderhut.
Santa Barbara High (16-14, 3rd in Channel) put together a strong season of its own in the Channel League, earning a home playoff game in the Division 5 playoffs.
The Dons are set to clash with Paraclete (18-9, 3rd in Camino Real) on Wednesday at 6 p.m. inside J.R. Richards Gym.
In Division 6, Bishop Diego (17-12, 1st in Tri-Valley) will look to carry over the momentum from a strong regular season into a home playoff opener.
The Cardinals will take on Indio (15-6, 1st in Desert Valley) on Tuesday at 6 p.m. inside the Brick House.
There will be a local clash in Division 7 as Laguna Blanca (10-7, 1st in Frontier) will make the short trip up the hill in Carpinteria to take on Cate (9-6, 3rd in Tri-Valley).
The two teams matched up for a tournament game earlier in the season, with the Laguna Blanca Owls coming out on top over the Rams in straight sets.
Cate, the No. 3 seed in Division 7, will host Laguna Blanca on Wednesday at 6 p.m. in Carpinteria.
Providence (7-10, 1st in Condor) rounded out the local teams in the playoffs, earning a spot in the Division 10 bracket.
The Patriots will hit the road to take on Indian Springs (12-15, 1st in Mountain Valley) on Tuesday at 6 p.m.
