Four people were transported to Santa Ynez Valley Cottage Hospital after a two-vehicle crash Friday night in Solvang.

Shortly after 6:30 p.m., personnel from the Santa Barbara County Fire Department, the California Highway Patrol and American Medical Response were dispatched to the crash involving a Kia and a Lexus on the 1000 block of East Highway 246, fire Capt. Scott Safechuck said.

One vehicle landed on its roof, and the second rolled over but ended up on its wheels off the side of Highway 246 near Skytt Mesa Drive after the collision, according to emergency dispatch reports.

A man and a woman with moderate injuries and two uninjured juveniles from one vehicle were taken to the hospital, Safechuck said.

A man in the other vehicle refused treatment, he added.

Traffic on Highway 246 was affected by the crash, which will be investigated by California Highway Patrol officers.

The crash occurred as Solvang celebrates Danish Days, the annual festival focused on the community’s roots.
