Fredrick Douglas “Freddie” Skinner died unexpectedly in San Diego, California, on Aug. 30, 2024, at the age of 59.

Freddie is survived by his parent, Loretta Skinner of Lake Elsinore, Calif.; Dr. Valarie L. Skinner-Martin of Sun City, Calif.; Michael Skinner of Oceanside, Calif.; Larry Skinner of Las Vegas, Nevada; Angela Sherick-Bright of Los Angeles, Calif.; Johnathan Skinner of Winchester, Calif.; Brian Skinner of McKinleyville, Calif.; as well as an aunt and several uncles, cousins, nephews and nieces. He is preceded in death by his father, John L. Skinner, and brother William E. Skinner both of Lompoc, Calif.

Freddie was born on Oct. 3, 1964, in Wichita Falls, Texas, to John and Loretta Skinner. He graduated from Lompoc Senior High School in 1982.

Freddie loved the ocean and playing the guitar. He was a witty and caring individual with a quiet free spirit. May you rest in peace.

Memorial service will be Saturday, Jan. 18, 2025, at 10 a.m. at Grace Temple Missionary Baptist Church, 201 S. “H” St., Lompoc, CA 93436.
