Maker House (formerly Clay Studio) will present a series of three free lectures in May and June, featuring renowned artists in the fields of ceramics, mixed media, and installation art.

The series will take place in the lecture hall at Maker House, 1351 Holiday Hill Road, Goleta. All three talks begin at 5 p.m. Early arrival is recommended as seating is limited.

The schedule of events is:
• May 31: Michelle Griffoul – The Art of Transformation: From Clay to Mosaic.
Griffoul is a tile artist, glass artist, studio potter, and ceramics instructor. She will discuss her experience and the evolution of her work from pottery to intricate tile mosaics and designs that have adorned both public and private spaces.
• June 14: Adams Puryear – Form and Function: A Modern Approach to Ceramics. Puryear is a ceramic artist known for his blend of functional and sculptural pieces. He will discuss his approach to modern ceramics and how he merges traditional techniques with contemporary design.
• June 28: Joey Watson – Beyond the Mold: Exploring New Dimensions in Art. Learn about the experimental and boundary-pushing world of Watson, a mixed media creator, 3D fabricator, and installation artist. He will explain his process of using unconventional materials and technology to create art that challenges perceptions and engages audiences.
Maker House is a dedicated space for artists and art enthusiasts to explore, create and collaborate. Workshops, classes, and exhibits are offered to foster artistic growth and appreciation.
