With the Fiesta Historical Parade route on Cabrillo Boulevard, the city of Santa Barbara has joined Downtown Santa Barbara to provide free shuttles to help people access the parade route from downtown.

The Fiesta Parade will be noon-2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 4.

Santa Barbara Trolley and Rockstar Trolley will each provide three shuttles. The shuttles will pick up riders near the Canon Perdido Garage (Lot 2), Granada Garage (Lot 6), Library Garage (Lot 7), and Ortega Garage (Lot 10).

The shuttles will arrive at State and Yanonali streets, near the Santa Barbara Amtrak Station, which is a one-block walk to the parade route.

The shuttles will run in a loop up Chapala Street across Anapamu Street and down Anacapa Street to the beach side of State Street, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. in 10-15 minute intervals.

“Last year the city of Santa Barbara initiated the Fiesta Parade shuttle and it was a great success,” said Brian Bosse, Public Works downtown team manager. “We are happy to bring it back again this year with twice the level of service.

“The city has again partnered with Downtown Santa Barbara to make transportation from downtown to the parade route easier, allowing the community to enjoy the historic parade.”

In addition to the shuttle service, the city is adding temporary bike parking racks in and around the Hotel Californian plaza, at State and Mason streets, and on State Street near De La Guerra Street to accommodate alternative transportation.
