Hayden Jory scored 26 points to lead Cabrillo in a 60-57 Channel League win over Santa Barbara on Tuesday.
For the second night in a row, a Santa Barbara comeback fell short and the Dons suffered at the free throw line.
“The game was almost a mirror of the previous night, in the sense of us getting down double-digits in the fourth quarter before having a shot to tie it at the end,” Dons coach Corey Adam said. “Our nemesis of free throw shooting reared its head again — 7-17 from the charity stripe does not win too many close games. Cabrillo was 14 of 18.
“I’m proud of my guys for not hanging their heads and playing together.”
Andrew Douglas led Santa Barbara with 17 points and seven rebounds, and Erik Strandurg added 12 points.
