Cate senior Fritze Mayer and junior Emily May won the Tri-Valley League doubles title with a 6-3, 6-0 win over the English sisters of Foothill Tech on Thursday.
Mayer and May end the season at 16-0 and continue a streak of four consecutive TVL doubles title for the school. Cate Senior Yuki Kobayashi and junior Ashi Kamra placed third in doubles.
Cate’s No. 1 singles player Aminah Hill won a 6-0, 6-0 match Thursday to take third place in singles, also good for all-league honors.
“The three victories today end Cate’s COVID-shortened season on a high note and bring momentum for the team going into the 2021 fall season in just a few short months,” Cate coach Trevor Thorpe said.
