Ricardo Valencia, Primitiva Hernandez, Teresa Alvarez, Julissa Pena, and Michelle Guerrero were honored at the 10th Annual Latino Legacy Awards, hosted by the Future Leaders of America on May 8.

Guerrero also received a $1,000 scholarship as Santa Barbara County Youth Leader of the Year.

“It’s amazing to see the impact these leaders have made in their respective communities, and it’s all thanks to their hard work and dedication,” the organization said. “We at Future Leaders would like to thank them for their incredible work, and we’re honored to have recognized them at the Latino Legacy Awards.”

“We want to express our gratitude to everyone who came out to support and celebrate the five incredible leaders who were recognized for their outstanding contributions in the Latinx community,” the group said.

Future Leaders also thanks its sponsors “whose contributions have made it possible for us to provide youth leadership development programs for Latinx youth living on the Central Coast.”
