Gary Michael Shubeck, born Nov. 10, 1940, in Detroit, Michigan, passed away peacefully at home on April 25, 2025, in Santa Maria.

He is survived by his beloved wife Barbara Jon Shubeck; son Michael Gary Shubeck (Emily), of Peachtree City, Georgia; daughters Deborah Lynn Wampler (Greg), and Susan Sabrina Shubeck of Los Angeles. Gary also had five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Gary was a devoted husband, father and grandfather, whose quiet strength, sense of humor, and deep love for his family left an enduring mark on all who knew him.

He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Air Force, serving as a mechanic from December 1961 to February 1965.

He graduated from college and had a successful career, retiring from Xerox Corp. where his dedication and professionalism were widely respected.

Gary and Barbara were married for 53 years, sharing a deep and lasting love.

In his free time, Gary found peace and joy in fishing. He was an avid reader, reading up to three novels a week, a passion that brought him comfort throughout his life.

Gary’s legacy of love, integrity and warmth will live on in the hearts of his family and friends. He will be greatly missed.
