
George Y Tucay passed away in his home peacefully at the age of 81 on April 21, 2025, with his loving wife by his side in Santa Maria.
Born on July 27, 1943 in the Philippines, George Y. Tucay led a remarkable life filled with dedication and service to our country.
He served honorably in the United States Navy for 20 years. He received numerous awards and decorations for his exceptional contributions to our nation’s defense.
George Y Tucay was a dedicated patriot who served in Vietnam, displaying unwavering courage and commitment. He was deeply respected by his fellow service members and will be remembered.
George Y Tucay is survived by his wife Luz Tucay of 56 years; his sons and their spouses George V and Lynn Tucay, Frank and Judy Tucay, and Gerald and Charlene Tucay; and his daughter Lorri Soriano.
Keeping his legacy alive are his 10 grandchildren and great grandchildren, who will forever cherish his memory. He is also survived by his siblings Jun and Roger Tucay and his sisters Teresita Piasecki, Sylvia Brennan, and Yoli Ricasata.
He is preceded in death by his parents Justiniano & Bonifacia Tucay, his siblings Art Tucay and Rosie Saddi, and his grandson Steven Tucay.
A memorial service to celebrate George Y Tucay’s life will be Sunday, May 4, with visitation starting at 3 p.m. and the Rosary at 3:30 p.m. The funeral mass will be held at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, 9:30 a.m. Monday, May 5, followed by burial at Santa Maria Cemetery.
