Georgia Wilson pitched a one-hitter and Dos Pueblos took advantage of four Lompoc errors to take a 6-1 Channel League victory at home on Wednesday.
The Chargers jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first inning, after Mia Reveles singled, stole second, then scored on a Bella Nuno double. Georgia Wilson singled to make it 2-0, and then an overthrow on Ashley Gerken’s ground ball made it 3-0.
Dos Pueblos added runs in the second, fifth and sixth innings.
Lompoc’s Haley Larsh led off the 7th inning with a home run, spoiling Wilson’s bid for a no-hitter. “I thought we played a really smart game today,” Dos Pueblos coach Mike Gerken said. “We had so many instances where the girls’ understanding of the game helped us.”
The Chargers are now 5-1 in league play and 9-4 overall.
