The city of Goleta will mark National Public Works Week (May 19-25) with an interactive community event, 4-6 p.m. May 22 at Camino Real Marketplace, 7004 Market Place Drive for an afternoon with our dedicated Public Works team and partner agencies.
The city’s Public Works team will be joined by the Goleta Sanitary District, Goleta West Sanitary District, and Goleta Water District.
Activities for visitors include checking out the inside of a tractor mower, Vactor truck, and closed circuit television (CCTV) inspection truck.
“Not sure what those are? Come on down and find out,” the city urges.
National Public Works Week honors the tens of thousands of people who provide and maintain the essential infrastructure and services collectively known as public works.
Public Works Week gives community members a chance to get to know the people working in Goleta neighborhoods every day, learn about current and upcoming projects, and ask questions.
Those who stop by the Public Works table can pick up a Live • Work • Play sticker and use it to get a free cup of coffee at Anna’s Bakery or free soda at Los Agaves.
In addition to public works, city information tables will include:
• Community Relations
• Goleta Valley Library
• Homelessness Services
• Parks and Recreation
