Gianni Horvat hit a tie-breaking two-run homer in the seventh inning, lifting the Santa Barbara Foresters to a 5-3 victory and a three-game series sweep of the Academy Barons at Pershing Park on Sunday.

Horvat’s homer was the eighth hit by the Foresters in their last three games. He drove in Santa Barbara High graduate and Arizona-bound Dane Dawson, who pinch ran for Dominic Hellman. He was hit by a pitch to lead off the inning.

Santa Barbara got good pitching from Austin Ledbetter and Carson Turnquist. Ledbetter (Arkansas) struck out five and allowed three runs on four hits and three walks in five innings. One of the runs scored on an error and another on a wild pitch.

Turnquist, who hails from Paso Robles and plays at Oklahoma, threw a hitless four innings, walked two and struck out eight. He picked up the win.

The Foresters are back in action Monday against the San Luis Obispo Blues at Sinsheimer Park.
