Dos Pueblos girls golf pulled out a non-league victory over Santa Ynez High on Wednesday at Glen Annie Golf Course.

The Chargers (5-0) came together to shoot a combined 240, while the Pirates ended the day with a team score of 258.

“Santa Ynez was a very good team and an excellent challenge for our team,” Dos Pueblos head coach Dan Choi said. “They played really well and we had to step up to get the win. For the first time this year we had four golfers in the 40s.”

Celeste Alcaraz put together another strong performance for the Chargers, earning medalist honors once again with her score of 40.

Alcaraz was followed by teammates Angelia Pagliaro (47), Dani Hickman (48), Bella Sebastian (49), Sophia Morales (56) and Sophie Ralston (59).

“[Alcaraz] continues to play some really good, consistent golf and that has been like gold for our team,” Choi said. “All the golfers played well today and we pulled out a very good team win.”

San Marcos vs. Arroyo Grande, Righetti

The Royals finished third in a three-team, non-league match with Arroyo Grande and Righetti on Wednesday at Cypress Ridge Golf Club.

San Marcos combined for a team score of 278 to finish behind Righetti (274) and host Arroyo Grande (263) on the par-36 course.

“The girls played well, considering none of them had ever played that course before. It can be tough playing a new course but the girls enjoyed it,” San Marcos head coach Sarah Ashton said.

Mia Rocha paced the Royals with her score of 48, while Chloe Bellamy (50), Simrin Singh (54), Karenna Salem (59) and Cana Spieker (67) followed.

San Marcos (2-3) will host Buena for a Channel League match on Thursday at Sandpiper Golf Course.
