San Marcos girls golf finished off its Channel League championship with a victory over Ventura High in Tuesday’s regular-season finale at Buenaventura Golf Course.

The Royals combined for a season-best score of 217, while the Cougars combined for 262 on the par-34 course. San Marcos ended the regular season with a 14-1 record and an undefeated 8-0 against league opponents.

San Marcos’ Mia Rocha was the team’s top golfer after shooting a one-over-par 35, just one stroke behind Ventura’s Oakley Moran, who was the medalist.

Rocha was followed by the trio of Chloe Bellamy, Sierra Kaderali and Simrin Singh, who all shot a 41. Andra Dussert rounded out the Royals with a score of 59.

“[Bellamy] showed great poise and continues to push herself to be better each day,” San Marcos head coach Sarah Ashton said. “We appreciate that we can rely on [Singh’s] consistency and great leadership skills for our newer players.

[Kaderali] is showing great tenacity and desire to keep improving. Her positive attitude is contagious. Andra Dussert filled in a key role in a big match as others were out sick and injured. She stepped up in a big way and really put her team’s needs ahead of her own.”

Dos Pueblos 240, Channel Islands 312

The Chargers capped off their regular season with a league win over the Raiders on Tuesday in Oxnard.

[Alcaraz’s] short game was very good today. Even the other coaches were commenting on her skills,” Charger head coach Dan Choi said. “[Sebastian] did a great job scrambling with some excellent chipping around the greens. [Ralston’s] short game was strong and so was her putting

“[van Hooijdonk] was very consistent with her long irons on a very windy day. [Prahm] was impressive with her putting today. [Soberano] also did a great job with her short game. It was nice to have a good team performance on our last road win with our senior captains in the regular season.”

The Chargers end the regular season with an overall record of 10-2 and a 6-2 mark against league opponents.
