San Marcos girls golf continued its dominant season with a Channel League win over Channel Islands on Senior Day on Thursday at Sandpiper Golf Course.

The Royals’ (12-1, 7-0 Channel League) top five totaled a score of 257, while the Raiders recorded a 366 on the par-36 course.

San Marcos celebrated its senior class of Chloe Bellamy and Mia Rocha, who have been with the varsity team for all four years of high school.

“They have demonstrated leadership, commitment, and responsibility during their time on the team and we appreciate all that they do to be good stewards of the game to our opponents and younger players,” San Marcos head coach Sarah Ashton said of her seniors.

Rocha had a strong Senior Day performance, carding a 42 to pull in the match’s medalist honors.

She was joined by fellow Royals Simrin Singh (44), Bellamy (50), Luccia Macaluso (59), Hayden Anderson (62) and Andra Dussert (64).

“Watching the team celebrate the seniors and share in their excitement really underlines the quality of the team culture we emphasize,” Ashton said. “This team is like a family and they are there for each other, day in and day out.

“It’s an honor to coach such a wonderful group of young ladies and to coach alongside such a supportive, enthusiastic coaching staff.”

The Royals will take on rival Santa Barbara High in a non-league match on Monday at Santa Barbara Golf Club.
