San Marcos girls golf remained undefeated in Channel League play with a road win over Buena on Thursday at Olivas Links Golf Course.

The Royals (10-1, 5-0 Channel League) secured the victory with a team total of 259, while the Bulldogs ended with a team score of 334 on the back nine, a par 36.

“It was a challenging course with lots of precision shots. However, the girls remained focused and came away with another league win,” San Marcos head coach Sarah Ashton said.

San Marcos’ Mia Rocha pulled in her sixth medalist honor of the season, shooting a match-best 44.

She was followed by teammates Simrin Singh (47), Chloe Bellamy (54), Hayden Anderson (55), Cana Spieker (59) and Sierra Kaderali (61).

Dos Pueblos 215, Ventura 245

The Chargers defended their home course with a league win over the Cougars on Thursday at Glen Annie Golf Course, a par 35.

Dos Pueblos’ Celeste Alcaraz carded three birdies on her way to a one-over-par 36 and medalist honors.

The rest of the Charger golfers were Bella Sebastian (39), Sophia Fuste (44), Sophia Morales (47), Alina van Hooijdonk (49) and Macy Prahm (50).

“Overall, I was very proud of all the golfers’ clear focus today on the course, especially the girls who played two days in a row,” Dos Pueblos head coach Dan Choi said.

Dos Pueblos (8-1, 4-1 Channel League) will take on crosstown foe San Marcos on Tuesday at Sandpiper Golf Club. The rivals are the top two teams in the Channel League.

Santa Barbara High 295, Rio Mesa 316

The Dons went on the road and earned a Pacific View League win over the Spartans on Thursday at Las Posas Golf Course, a par 35.

Santa Barbara’s Ceci Duarte pulled in medalist honors at 48, and she was joined by Livvie Zampelli (58), Ava Rudd (62), Camryn Quinn (63), Jazmin Mislang (64) and Hannah Mahboob (64).

“[Duarte’s] consistency and leadership have been a steady influence on our entire team,” Santa Barbara High head coach Ryan Throop said. “The girls persevered on a warm day on a new course for several of them.”

The Dons (7-5, 5-1 PVL) will head north to take on Santa Ynez at Alisal River Golf Course on Tuesday.
