Santa Barbara High girls golf continued its undefeated start to Pacific View League play with a victory over Pacifica on Tuesday at Santa Barbara Golf Club.
The Dons (5-3, 3-0 PVL) came together for a team score of 305, while the Tritons ended the day at 326 on the par-36 course.
Livvi Zampelli was the top golfer for Santa Barbara High with a personal best of 52, and she was followed by teammates Hannah Mahboob (59), Ava Rudd (60) and Blake Kaufman (62).
Pacifica’s Yodtzin Jijada earned the match’s medalist honors with her score of 45.
The Dons will take on Oxnard High at River Ridge Golf Course on Thursday.
San Marcos 234, Channel Islands 311
The Royals went on the road and came away with a Channel League win over the Raiders on Tuesday at River Ridge Golf Course, a par 35.
San Marcos’ Mia Rocha led the charge in the win, picking up medalist honors after shooting a 40.
“Mia handled a lot of adversity in today’s match and stayed focused on what she could control while setting an excellent example for our newer players,” San Marcos head coach Sarah Ashton said. “When Mia’s on the course, it’s like having an additional coach out there that we can rely on.”
Rocha was joined by Chloe Bellamy (45), Hayden Anderson (47), Simrin Singh (49), Andra Dussert (53) and Luccia Macaluso (56).
“I want to give praise to sophomore Hayden Anderson, who has really stepped up already in her first season,” Ashton said. “She’s incredibly coachable and very positive, so I think she will continue to keep excelling. We are really proud of her efforts and attitude this season.”
Dos Pueblos 332, Rio Mesa 358
The Chargers picked up a non-league victory over the Spartans on Tuesday in Oxnard.
Dos Pueblos’ Celeste Alcaraz captured another medalist honor with her score of 46, while Sophie Ralston and Sophia Fuste each followed at 49.
Bella Sebastian and Macy Prahm each shot a 57, and Alina van Hooijdonk rounded out the Chargers with a 59.
Dos Pueblos is now 6-1 on the season and remains 1-1 in Channel League play.
