Dos Pueblos girls volleyball kicked off the second half of Channel League play with a sweep of Rio Mesa on Tuesday inside Sovine Gym in Goleta.
The Chargers (3-15, 3-5 Channel League) had control from start to finish in the win, 25-19, 25-17, 25-22.
Addie Low’s stellar season on the outside continued with a match-high 15 kills to go along with five blocks on the defensive end.
Meanwhile, both Charlize Welch (13 digs, 6 aces, 3 kills) and Faith Harrison (8 kills, 6 digs, 3 blocks) filled up the stat sheet on both ends en route to the win.
Sammy Anderson collected 25 assists and eight digs, while Moana Martinez picked up 10 digs of her own.
Dos Pueblos will host Pacifica for another league match on Thursday at 6:30 p.m.
Santa Barbara High 3, Buena 0
The Dons went on the road and came away with a sweep of the Bulldogs in Ventura on Tuesday, 25-12, 25-22, 25-21.
“We were able to get a lot of players contributing to the action tonight,” Santa Barbara High head coach Kristin Hempy said. “It was a team win, with a few new lineups in the mix and great energy across the board.”
Lola Heckman led the Dons’ offense with 12 kills, while Aeryn Alexander finished the night with six kills. Meanwhile, both Jaqueline Durling and Kira Elliott hammered down four kills.
Jules Horton facilitated the offense with 23 assists, including three kills apiece to both Eloise Becker and Stella Peus. Defensively, Paylin Marcillac collected 12 digs and Grace Costner tallied seven of her own.
Santa Barbara High, which is now 6-2 in league play, will be on the road against Ventura on Thursday at 6:30 p.m.
San Marcos 3, Oxnard 0
The Royals picked up a road sweep of their own on Tuesday in Oxnard, 25-17, 25-20, 25-11.
“Everybody contributed from either the service line or defensively,” San Marcos head coach Erica Downing said. “We’ve been really working on our middle attack so it was great to see Jordan (Schmoeller) get involved… We had some good slides and middle attacks.”
While Cora Loomer led the team with eight kills, Jordan Schmoeller and Jeanie Johnson recorded six kills apiece.
Lila Westmacott distributed the scoring attack to the tune of 21 assists, and Charlotte Hastings ended the night with four digs.
The Royals will host Buena on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. inside the Thunderhut.
Laguna Blanca 3, Dunn 0
The Owls remained undefeated in Frontier League play with a sweep of Dunn on Tuesday, 25-13, 25-17, 25-12.
“We got to try out some different lineups tonight and no matter what lineup we played, our freshman middles dominated at the net,” Laguna Blanca head coach Tanner Stevens said.
“It’s good to get another league win and we head into the second half with a target on our back, but I know the girls are ready to compete and finish the regular season strong.”
Ginger Finney paced the Owls with seven kills, while Lauren Kenny closely followed with six kills.
Laguna Blanca, now 4-0 in league action, will host Providence on Thursday at 5 p.m.
Cate 3, Nordhoff 0
The Rams defended their home court with a sweeping win over Nordhoff, 25-16, 25-22, 25-11.
“It was great to see one of our senior captains, Fallon Erickson, back in action. She started off the match with an ace and played some great volleyball,” Cate head coach Jordon Dyer said. “Our team took care of business and showed up across the board.”
Oyin Opawumi was in the middle of the offensive action and finished with a team-high 13 kills, while Elise Tsai dished out 13 total assists.
Coco Kliman had an efficient night at the net with six kills and zero errors, and the duo of Emerson Evans and Evangeline Little served up three aces apiece.
The Rams will be on the road against St. Bonaventure on Friday at 6 p.m.
