Santa Barbara High girls volleyball rounded out the regular season with a four-set victory over crosstown rival Dos Pueblos on Tuesday inside Sovine Gym in Goleta.

The Dons took control from the opening set and bounced back from a third-set loss to secure the win, 25-12, 25-12, 20-25, 25-19.

“Strong serving led the way with lots of aces from Grace (Costner), Jules (Horton), Paylin (Marcillac) and Blake (Saunders),” Santa Barbara High head coach Kristin Hempy said.

“Paylin was working hard, holding down the fort in the back row and Blake had a great offensive night, swinging aggressively at the net.”

Saunders filled up the stat sheet for the Dons in the win, collecting 13 kills, 18 digs and four aces. Horton also recorded a double-double with 34 assists and 11 digs, to go along with four aces.

Lola Heckman reached double figures with 10 kills, and Marcillac tallied 21 digs and six aces. Costner did it all as well, ending the night with 10 digs, four aces and three kills.

As for the Chargers, Addie Low led the offense with 15 kills to go along with seven digs. Allie Ben-Yaacco recorded a double-double with 27 assists and 11 digs.

Santa Barbara High finished the year at 10-4 in Channel League play, good for third place and an automatic CIF-SS playoff bid. The Dons will await their draw on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Dos Pueblos went 5-9 against league opponents to finish in sixth place.

Bishop Diego 3, Del Sol 0

The Cardinals capped off their regular season with a Senior Night sweep of Del Sol on Tuesday inside the Brick House, 25-12, 25-17, 27-25.

“We had a lot of fun tonight celebrating our seniors in what could be their last match in the Brick House, depending on our playoff outcome,” Bishop Diego head coach Dillan Bennett said. 

“They played well, they played with energy, and they worked well in all three sets. This group has played all four years together and has built a special bond.”

Olivia Leflang and Siena Jensen each hammered down seven kills, while Mollie McGibben and Sophie Otte ended the night with five kills apiece.

Meanwhile, Addie Barat and Kate Douglas tallied three aces and eight digs each in the victory.

The Cardinals, who finished the regular season with a 17-12 record and a co-Tri-Valley League title with St. Bonaventure, will await their playoff draw on Saturday.

San Marcos 3, Pacifica 0

The Royals completed its undefeated Channel League with a sweep of the Tritons in Oxnard, 25-9, 25-14, 25-9.

The duo of Cora Loomer and Charlotte Hastings paced the offensive attack with nine kills apiece, while Samantha Fallon chipped in five of her own.

Avery Leck ran the offense to the tune of 27 assists to go along with her five kills.

San Marcos will learn its CIF-SS playoff draw on Saturday. The Royals end the regular season with an overall record of 26-6 and a perfect league mark of 14-0.
