The Goleta Planning Commission continued its Monday meeting to Wednesday evening, delaying any action for the city’s Housing Element amendments since there were not enough commissioners present in person.
The Commission will hold public hearings to consider and adopt amendments to the 2023 to 2031 Housing Element before it goes to the City Council for adoption, and discuss rezoning property for residential development.
These items had to be delayed because there were not enough commissioners participating in person to vote on them.
Vice Chair Katie Maynard had to recuse herself from the discussion due to a conflict of interest with the proximity of her home to sites being considered to add to the Housing Element, Commissioner Jason Chapman attended the meeting remotely from Florida, and Chair Jennifer Smith was absent Monday.
The meeting will instead take place at 6 p.m. Wednesday, when Chapman is available to attend the meeting in person.
Members of the public can attend the meeting and comment on the Housing Element in person or remotely through Zoom.
The continued Goleta Planning Commission meeting will take place at 6 p.m. Wednesday in the Council Chambers at City Hall, located at 130 Cremona Dr. The meeting can also be viewed online through Zoom or the city’s website.
More information on the items and on how to provide public comment by Zoom is available on the agenda here.
