The new splash pad at Jonny D. Wallis Neighborhood Park opened just a week ago, on May 21 with close to 200 attendees gathering for the ribbon-cutting ceremony.
The splash pad will be open seasonally Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend, operating 10 a.m.-6 p.m. six days a week. The splash pad will be closed Wednesdays for routine maintenance and cleaning throughout the summer.

To help keep the new splash pad running smoothly and keep the maintenance to only one day per week, the city asks community members to help by adhering to the following rules and guidelines:
• Children are required to have adult supervision. There are no lifeguards on duty.
• Children younger than three years must wear a swim diaper.
• No pets, food, candy, gum or glass permitted on the splash pad.
• Although the water is treated, sanitized and recirculated, do not drink the water.
• Be ready to get wet and be sure to bring your swimsuit and towels.
• Water shoes and bare feet only on the splash pad.
• Users are requested to rinse off before use; showers are available.
• Parking is limited, so consider riding a bike, walking or carpooling.
• There is no entry fee; the splash pad is free to use.
