A portion of Goleta was plunged into darkness Friday night by a widespread power outage, according to the Southern California Edison Co.
More than 2,800 customers were without power from the outage, which began at 8 p.m., the utility said on its website.
Affected areas included Fairview Avenue and Patterson Avenue, and Cathedral Oaks Road.
SCE crews were investigating the cause of the outage.
It’s possible it was caused by power lines taken down during gusty winds Friday evening.
The company indicated that most customers were expected to have power restored by 9 p.m.
Additional details were not immediately available.
