The story of how the city of Goleta came to be is a compelling one, and what better time to tell it than at the city’s 20 Year Celebration, Saturday, March 5 at Rancho La Patera and Stow House, 304 N. Los Carneros Road.

The daylong event runs 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Notably, at 3:15 p.m., the debut of the “20-minute, 20-Year Reflections” video will take place.

Attendees will hear from former and current mayors, councilmembers and the first city manager as they reminisce about how a dream became a reality, what they love about the Good Land, and what their hopes and dreams are for the future of Goleta. For a sneak peek, click here.

Bring a chair and/or blanket and the city will provide the popcorn and several large screens from which to view the touching story.

Other highlights of the day will be:

Live music from the Salt Martians (Bluegrass) and The Nombres (Rock and Country)
Performances throughout the day including from the Dos Pueblos High School Theatre Company, Junior Spirit of Fiesta, and Teen Star Finalist
