The Goleta Valley South Little League 12-Under All-Star team took down Foothill Little League 5-1 on Thursday at Girsh Park to advance to the District 63 Championship Game on Saturday.

GVSLL will now take on Dos Pueblos Little League in the title matchup, where GVSLL will have to beat DPLL twice to win the overall championship.

After a scoreless first, GVSLL got out to a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the second following runs scored by Marco Rios and Graham Millington.

The GVSLL offense wasn’t done there, as they added insurance runs in the third and fifth innings thanks to the bats of Rios, Miles Smith, Chris Youngdahl and Gavin Miller to make the score 5-1.

Youngdahl and Kieren Ramaker showed out on the mound, allowing just one run on two hits in their six combined innings of work.

GVSLL and DPLL will face off on Saturday at Girsh Park at noon. If DPLL wins, then they capture the District 63 championship, but if GVSLL wins, then they force a winner-take-all game for the title on Monday at 5 p.m.
