The GVGSA 10U Goleta Thunder continued its hot start to the summer season with a June Boom Tournament championship last weekend in San Luis Obispo.
The Thunder went a perfect 4-0 on the weekend to advance to the title game, where Goleta pulled off a walk-off victory in the seventh to clinch the championship.
Last weekend’s tournament victory was the second in as many weeks for Goleta, which still has a long season of softball ahead.
“Our players showed tremendous heart all weekend,” Thunder coach Phillip Morones said. “They played with energy, supported one another, and never stopped competing. To finish the tournament with a walk-off win in the championship game makes it even more special.”
