The GVGSA 12U Goleta Storm captured the Silver Division championship at the Amanda McPherson Classic last weekend in Simi Valley.
The Storm turned in another undefeated tournament, going 4-0 and clinching the title with an 8-7 comeback win in the championship.
“The girls showed tremendous resilience this weekend and handled high-pressure moments with great composure,” Goleta head coach Chris Anderson said. “We faced some strong competition and didn’t always have our best stuff, but they found ways to compete, and ultimately came away with the win.
“Their determination and grit were on full display throughout the weekend.”
Goleta is now 22-5 this summer season and will be back in action this weekend in Orcutt.
The 12U Storm team consists of Ava Rodriguez, Ella Anderson, Giana Brunner, Gianna Bautista, Hailey Bravo, Harper Read, Juliana Jimenez, Makaela Muhr, Malaya Guilliams, Mia Tarka, Nyny Garcia and Ricci Ruiz.
The team is coached by Chris Anderson, Matt Guilliams, Jon Ramsdell, Erika Rodriguez, Beau Brunner and Javier Read.
