The GVGSA 12U Goleta Storm claimed the championship trophy at the Templeton Hot Summer Daze Tournament last weekend in Templeton.

The Storm were dominant from start to finish, going 5-0 on the weekend and outscoring opponents by a jaw-dropping margin of 58-5.

“We really played well as a team, which is super rewarding for us coaches to watch,” Goleta coach Chris Anderson said. “These young ladies were dialed in at practice all week and they brought that intensity to the weekend.”

Goleta scored its 58 runs on 55 hits across the five games, while the pitchers ended the weekend with a combined ERA of 0.80 and 34 strikeouts in 24 innings.

The Storm are now 18-5 on the summer season and will be back on the road in Simi Valley this weekend.

The 12U Storm team consists of Ava Rodriguez, Ella Anderson, Giana Brunner, Gianna Bautista, Hailey Bravo, Harper Read, Juliana Jimenez, Makaela Muhr, Malaya Guilliams, Mia Tarka, Nyny Garcia and Ricci Ruiz.

The team is coached by Chris Anderson, Matt Guilliams, Jon Ramsdell, Erika Rodriguez, Beau Brunner and Javier Read.
