The Goleta Valley Girls Softball Association 12U Thunder All-Stars cruised to the Lindsay Rose Tournament title this weekend in Goleta.

The Thunder went 4-0 on the weekend, while outscoring opponents 40-1 along the way.

On Saturday, the Thunder soared to a 14-0 win over the Lompoc Bombers and followed that up with a 9-0 victory over the Santa Maria Regulators.

After a tight 2-1 win over the Lompoc Force on Sunday, the Thunder got back to their dominating ways with a 15-0 win over the WAGS Lighting to earn the championship.

The pitching trio of Evie Bechler, Cecily Benes and Marrisah Corral were dialed in all weekend, striking out 33 of their 59 batters faced.

In the championship victory, Bechler capped off the weekend in style with a perfect game while striking out eight of the nine batters faced.

Offensively, Cami Weiss led the team with six hits on the weekend while both Karina Huie and Benes tallied five hits apiece. Weiss, Huie and Bailey Conway each hit home runs as well.

The Thunder, who are 22-12-1 after eight tournaments this summer, will end the year at Western Nationals in Moorpark next week.

“I’m impressed with how far the girls have come, working through challenges when plays or at-bats don’t go their way,” Thunder head coach Devany Bechler said. “Hits win games and our bats continue to be lighting up the fields, and we hope it continues into Western Nationals.”

The Thunder 12U All-Stars are Maddie Anderson, Evie Bechler, Cecily Benes, Bailey Conway, Marissah Corral, Bella Dalley, Maclean Fergus, Payton Henderson, Lucy Hendrick, Karina Huie, Cami Weiss and Mila Zavala.

The team is managed by Devany Bechler with coaches Shannon Benes, Chris Huie, Nick Henderson, Julie Weiss and Diegas Zavala.
