Allan Hancock College’s University Transfer Center will host its third-annual Student Transfer Summit, 9 a.m.-1 p.m., Friday, Feb. 20 at the Fine Arts Complex (Bldg. F) on the Santa Maria campus.
The summit will provide transfer students and their families with information and guidance about transferring to four-year universities.
The free event brings together university representatives, former transfer students, financial aid experts, and college advisors to help students navigate the transfer process.
The summit will open with a welcome in Boyd Concert Hall, followed by a keynote address from Anahy Torres Medina, a first-generation college student and Hancock alum, who is pursuing a degree in sociology at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo.
Students will also hear from a panel of former Hancock transfer students who have successfully transitioned to universities.
Throughout the morning, students may choose from breakout sessions covering topics such as transfer planning, campus highlights from university representatives, post-transfer financial aid, and transfer workshops for parents.
The event will conclude with lunch in the courtyard of the college’s Fine Arts Complex.
