Boys & Girls Clubs of Mid Central Coast is joining forces with Allan Hancock College and the Santa Maria-Bonita School District on a new summer learning initiative designed to expand access to enriching experiences for local youth.


Hosted on the Allan Hancock College campus, June 22-July 24, the program serves Santa Maria-Bonita School District students, with a focus on families living in the neighborhoods surrounding the college.

“The collaboration combines the strengths and commitment of each organization to create a safe and engaging environment where young people can continue learning, build relationships, and explore new opportunities throughout the summer,” organizers said.

Participants, ages 4-18, engage in a variety of experiences each day, including creative arts, STEM activities, reading enrichment, sports and recreation, leadership development, team-building activities and educational field trips.


More than a summer program, this partnership represents a shared investment in expanding access to meaningful learning experiences that help Santa Maria youth discover their potential, build confidence and prepare for the future, organizers said.

By combining resources and expertise, the three organizations are helping reduce summer learning loss while creating meaningful connections between youth, education and the broader community.

“This partnership between Allan Hancock College, Santa Maria-Bonita School District and Boys & Girls Clubs of Mid Central Coast reflects our collective commitment to ensuring every child has access to opportunities that inspire learning, build confidence, and open doors to a brighter future,” she said.

Allan Hancock College has been a community partner of Boys & Girls Clubs of Mid Central Coast for a number of years.

“Hosting youth programming on campus provides children with the opportunity to experience a college environment in a welcoming and accessible way while reinforcing the importance of lifelong learning and future educational aspirations,” organizers said.

In addition to this partnership, Boys & Girls Clubs of Mid Central Coast continues to operate summer programming at multiple club locations, including the Railroad Clubhouse in Santa Maria and Tom Maas Clubhouse in Paso Robles.
