Allan Hancock College athletics are set to resume this spring after nearly a year-long hiatus from action.

The “Spring 1” season is set to kick off Friday  with a home basketball doubleheader versus Cuesta College.

AHC Director of Athletics, Kim Ensing has announced that all athletic events will be held without spectators for the foreseeable future in accordance with the guidelines for athletics outlined for institutions of higher education.

“The decision to play without fans was not made lightly,” said Ensing. “In order to provide the safest environment for our community, we felt that having no fans in the stands as we return to play would not only help reduce the chances of exposure or spread, but also give us the opportunity to reevaluate this policy and make the best decision for our student-athletes, fans, coaches and game day staff.”

The AHC Department of Athletics will continue to work with public health officials to ensure that student-athletes and their game day experience is as safe as possible.

This season, home events will be available via live stream on the athletic website.
