Hannia Hernandez scored 19 points for Carpinteria in a 46-35 loss to Hueneme in a Citrus Coast League game at home on Tuesday.

The Warriors surrendered 23 points to the Vikings in the first quarter, but then made defensive adjustments to stay in the game.

“I was pleased with our perfect effort, execution on defense and rebounding,” Carpinteria coach Henry Gonzales said. “Emily Wazny was excellent on the boards and had 10 rebounds to lead us in that department.”

The Warriors are now 0-3 in CCL play and 0-4 overall. They host Fillmore Thursday at 7 p.m.
