A head-on crash on Highway 135 between Los Alamos and Orcutt left two people injured Monday morning. 

At approximately 8:30 a.m., personnel from the Santa Barbara County Fire Department and other agencies responded to a crash on Highway 135, fire Capt. Scott Safechuck said. 

The incident, which reportedly occurred near Browne Ranch Road, left at an adult female driver with critical injuries. An adult male driver from the second vehicle also was injured.

The crash reportedly involved a Chevrolet Avalanche and a Toyota Camry, according to emergency dispatch reports. 

A CalStar helicopter also was dispatched along with an American Medical Response ambulance to transport injured patients to Marian Regional Medical Center.

California Highway Patrol officers from the Santa Maria office were investigating the incident.

Both lanes of Highway 135 were blocked due to the crash, Safechuck said.

The roadway reopened just before 11 a.m., according to the CHP dispatch reports.
