The Ying Quartet occupies a unique position in the classical music world, combining communicative performances with an imaginative view of chamber music in today’s world.

Now in its third decade, the quartet’s performs regularly in important concert halls, from Carnegie Hall to the Sydney Opera House. At the same time, the Quartet’s belief that concert music can also be a meaningful part of everyday life has led them to play in settings as diverse as the workplace, schools, juvenile prisons, and the White House.

The local Ying Quartet program will include Dvorak’s “Cypresses” (selections); Carter Pann’s “Love Letters;” Paul Moravec’s “Anniversary Dances;” and Dvorak’s “Quartet in E-flat Major Op. 51.”

Tickets are $20 for SBMA members, $25 for non-members. Get tickets at tickets.sbma.net.
