Hearts Aligned has appointed Patty Evans, industry principal at Yardi Systems, Inc., to its Board of Directors, and Heather Sherman, supervisor of Pediatric Therapy Services at Cottage Health as board vice chair.

“These leadership appointments reflect Hearts Aligned’s continued commitment to strengthening its Board of Directors with accomplished professionals who bring expertise, compassion, and a shared dedication to improving the lives of families caring for a critically ill child,” Hearts Aligned said.

Evans brings experience in business strategy, technology, and leadership through her role at Yardi Systems.

“Her professional expertise and passion for serving the community will help support Hearts Aligned as the organization continues to expand its programs and meet the growing needs of families throughout Santa Barbara County,” the organization said.

Sherman has served on the Hearts Aligned Board of Directors and has been an advocate for children and families throughout her career.

As supervisor of Pediatric Therapy Services at Cottage Health and a board-certified clinical specialist in pediatric physical therapy, she brings clinical knowledge and leadership experience to her role as board vice chair.

“Her expertise in caring for children with complex medical needs provides a unique perspective that aligns closely with Hearts Aligned’s mission,” the group said.

“Hearts Aligned is fortunate to welcome Patty to our Board and to have Heather step into the role of vice chair,” said Vivian Solodkin, founder/executive director of Hearts Aligned.

“Both women are exceptional leaders whose expertise, compassion, and commitment to children and families will help guide our organization as we continue to grow and expand our impact throughout Santa Barbara County,” she said.

Founded in 2021, Hearts Aligned provides financial assistance, family support, and advocacy to low-income families caring for a critically ill child in Santa Barbara County.

The organization partners with hospitals, healthcare providers, and community organizations to help reduce the financial and emotional burdens families face while their child receives life-saving medical care.
