A warm Wednesday prompted the National Weather Service to issue a heat advisory for the Santa Maria Valley, Buellton and San Luis Obispo. 

Temperatures up to 92 degrees are expected, and the heat advisory was issued for 10 a.m. until 7 p.m. Wednesday. 

“There is a high risk for heat illness for sensitive populations including the very young, the very old, those without air conditioning, and those active outdoors,” forecasters said. 

Buellton, Solvang and Santa Ynez are expected to hit highs around 90 degrees through Friday, then fall to the 80s and high-70s over the weekend. 

Santa Maria is forecast to hit the mid- to low-80s this week, and then fall to the 70s over the weekend. 

Santa Barbara, Goleta and the rest of the South Coast are expected to reach the low-80s this week, and stay in the high-70s over the weekend.
