Santa Barbara County will have more summer-like weather this week with high temperatures ranging from the upper 70s to mid 90s through the weekend.
“Right now through Saturday we’re expecting clear nights, sunny days,” said Joe Firard with the National Weather Service in Oxnard. “Might be some locally gusty winds during night and morning hours, especially in the mountains, along the central coast and the Santa Ynez Valley … But it shouldn’t be that dramatic for Santa Barbara County.”
Firard said that high temperatures Wednesday will be anywhere from the 80s to low 90s.
Thursday and Friday are expected to have high temperatures in the 80s to mid 90s along the coast and the Santa Ynez Valley.
These highs are expected to continue through Saturday, with Sunday bringing temperatures in the 70s to low 80s along the coast and highs in the 90s in the Santa Ynez Valley.
“If people like warm, dry weather, it’s going to be really nice,” Firard said.
Firard cautioned that the dry air will also mean elevated fire weather conditions and people should check for fire restrictions and take caution if recreating outside.
“We don’t want human-caused wildfires, that’s for sure,” Firard said.
