
Apples to Zucchini Cooking School has announced the addition of Heather Shaffer to its Board of Directors.
Shaffer is a product operations leader working at the intersection of technology and healthcare. She spent some 10 years at Google, and 15 years working with tech startups, and began her technical career as a computing educator.
While she has enjoyed launching solutions in payments, shopping, healthcare, food distribution, industrial safety and cloud platforms, at the end of her tech-based workdays, Shaffer said she has found herself pulled to the kitchen to unwind, explore, and “get back into her body.”
In 2019 she decided to attend culinary school to deepen her knowledge of the science, creativity and discipline of working in a professional kitchen.
As a nonprofit, Apples to Zucchini Cooking School’s mission is to bring people together over shared meals by teaching children, teens and adults how to prepare delicious, nutritious, affordable meals made from seasonal and local ingredients.
