Helga Renate Esser was born Sept. 17, 1943 in Lithuania to German parents. She passed away Oct. 25, 2025 in Cologne, Germany.

Helga had  many happy vacations in Santa Barbara, visiting her sister Sina and brother-in-law Horst Hagemann.

After Horst’s passing in 1996, Helga visited almost every year. Helga and Sina took many trips together, and socialized with so many of their dear friends all over Santa Barbara, usually celebrating New Years’ at the German Club.

Helga is survived by her son Dirk (Anja) Esser; her younger brother Helmut; and her nieces and nephews. Her oldest son Robert preceded her in death along with her brothers Albert and Eduard, and her sister Sina.
