The American Legion invites the community to help welcome the Project Hero cyclists, 11:45 a.m.-noon Thursday, Oct. 23 (arrival time may vary) at the Old Orcutt Barn, 147 W. Clark Ave., American Legion Post 534.

“The riders were so happy with the number of people that came out to show their support in the past two years as they rode into Old Orcutt. Imagine how they would feel if we could fill up both sides of Clark Avenue to welcome them?” organizers said.

The Auxiliary of the American Legion in Orcutt will be hosting a lunch for this year’s California Challenge Riders. Bicyclists will ride from Santa Cruz to Port Hueneme.

“Our community is blessed to have these incredible men and women make their yearly stop right here in Orcutt, so wear something red, white or blue (or all three colors), grab a flag, and welcome these Heroes to Orcutt,” organizers said.
