The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) is seeking volunteers to participate in the Spring 2025 Cohort’s Final CERT Drill, 6-9 p.m. Tuesday, July 1, at Carpinteria City Hall’s Council Chamber Area.

Over the past eight weeks, CERT members have been training in a variety of essential emergency skills, including medical operations, emergency psychology, fire safety, and search and rescue.

The final drill puts their knowledge to the test in a simulated disaster response; and the public’s response help makes it possible, CERT said.

Volunteers will play the role of disaster victims, ranging from individuals with minor injuries to those requiring full rescue.

No acting experience is needed, just a willingness to participate and support local emergency preparedness, CERT said.

Participants will be given a brief scenario and basic moulage (fake injury makeup) to enhance the realism of the training.
